Selection for the 2009 Landrover G4 Challenge
Welcome! My training has started for the national selections for the G4 Challenge which takes place on the 20th November in Herts. UK. Actually, training is an ongoing and daily process. Since leaving Peru last year I have gotten buried in the wonderful world of adventure sports in Ireland. I seem to have been involved in everything from hill-running to mountain biking, to kayaking and I’ve had very little time to do any surfing such is my fear of not being fit enough to keep up with the rest of my friends at AR races! I have found the easiest way to rent-a-group-of-cool-friends is by getting involved in adventure racing. Even better still if you are of the female species which is a scarce commodity on the Irish AR scene.
So. Back to the G4 Challenge. I’ll be focusing on this for the next month or so, making sure I have as many off the skills sets honed and ready to demonstrate at selections. I’ve booked my cousin’s Landrover Defender and promised him I’ll turn it sideways for him to show him how its done, I’ve been practicing my team building skills with Nathan Kingerlee http://www.outdoorsireland.com/ who has been giving me some great advice. Now its only a matter of putting it all into practice!
Here goes!
